Clergy

Father Jonathan Mark Erdman was an ordained a Priest June 29, 2017, on the Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul. Prior to this, he was an Episcopal priest for twelve years before he and his family converted to the Catholic Church in July of 2016. They came to Louisville in July of 2010. Father Erdman and his wife, Andrea,  came to Louisville from New York City, where Father Erdman served as Curate and Youth Minister at Saint Thomas Church Fifth Avenue.  From 2010 to early 2016 he served as Rector of Calvary Episcopal Church in Louisville.

 

Born in Mahoning Township, Pennsylvania in 1978, he is the son of an Episcopal Priest.  Father Erdman received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Rolla in 2000, and his MDiv from Yale University Divinity School in 2004. 

 

In 2002 Jonathan married Andrea Lea Benson at Christ Church, Rolla, Missouri. They have five children. Sarah and Joseph, were both born in New York City, and their twins, Gabriel and Naomi, and youngest son, Joshua were born in Louisville.  Andrea has served as Director of Volunteers for Episcopal Social Services of New York, and has a Master of Social Work Degree from Saint Louis University.

 

Jonathan is passionate about preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is committed to pastoral ministry and worship, and in making the riches of the traditions of the Church available, especially the patrimony of the Anglican Catholic tradition.  He is dedicated to faithful liturgy, and making the love of Christ known in worship and in the outreach of the church.
